Dear Colleagues,
from November 10th to 14th, we will have the pleasure of hosting the Sinologist Prof. Martin Kern (Princeton). You can find more about his work here: https://eas.princeton.edu/people/martin-kern
Prof. Kern will present a lecture on November 11th on the subject of "The Sociology of Text in 300 BCE China: Language, Community, Manuscripts"
The lecture will focus on the relationship between the archaeology of literary manuscripts (not documents), their materiality and visuality, and the practices of reading, interpretation, teaching, and performance in the interpretive community at one of the principal Chinese royal courts—the court of Chu—at the time.
All the Best,
Nicla De Zorzi
