Admission to the Doctoral Programme & Registration for the Docschool PhilCult

Doctoral candidates with a position at the University of Vienna (university funded, third-party funded) benefit from the support structure of the Doctoral School PhilCult, can participate in the Doctoral School workshops and take part in peer activities or organise them themselves. In addition, they are encouraged to apply for the various funding programmes of our docschool.

All doctoral students of the Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies and the Centre for Translation Studies can apply for admission to the Docschool PhilCult. Candidates of the doctoral school are expected to participate in its activities and to pass the public presentation of their project within the first year. They will benefit from the supervision structure of the Doctoral School for Philological and Cultural Studies, participate in its workshops and organise/participate in peer activities. They are also encouraged to take advantage of the various support programmes offered by our docschool. It supports students without a doctoral position at the University of Vienna in their efforts to obtain long-term funding for their dissertation project.
